Mother's Day 2009

Mother's Day 2009

Sorry we have been gone for nearly 6 months!  Man the time flies.  Really I’ve been avoiding blogging because I was feeling overwhelmed about catching up , but I’m just going to start again, right where we are, and move on.

I promise to put up some more pics this weekend, esp. some of my favs from our Memorial Day weekend in Charleston.  So look for those soon.

Get me outta here!

Get me outta here!

So Courtney was brave enough to go with us to visit Santa.  After waiting in line forever, we were about 3 away from our turn.  Cooper decides he is done waiting and busts to the front of the line, marches right up to Santa, and basically proclaims “here I am and its my turn”.  I go get him and we wait a few more minutes.  As you can see from the pic, Cooper must have changed his mind, cause he was having NOTHING to do with poor ol St. Nick.  We did finally convince him to give Santa a high-five, but that was it.  I’m sure this pic will come back to haunt Cooper, but I just couldn’t resist.

60 delightful trips down memory lane

60 delightful trips down memory lane

This is what my awesome friend Gail sent me for Christmas.  You can’t get Utz Crab Chips in Florida and they are a special nostalgia treat for me.  She not only remembered but sent a box of 60 snack sized treats!  I’m going to list 5 reasons why Gail is awesome (besides her thoughtfulness):

1. Gail and I have been friends almost 18 years.  I can’t ever think of a time when Gail wasn’t part of my life.  Through some crazy storms, Gail’s been there for me.

2. Almost everyday since we began “grown-up” jobs, Gail and I discuss what we are having for lunch.  It’s just as important to my daily schedule as drinking my morning coffee.

3. We both share a sick obsession with the media.  I don’t mean we read the paper and check the internet, I mean we have insane crushes on news personalities and we’ve shared this since we were little.

4. I know I already mentioned how thoughtful she is, but I really mean it.  Gail is always sending little notes or gifts.  Her gift is encouragement and she is awesome at it.

5. Back in the day Gail and I shared many traits, including our intense need for orthadontic intervention, our love of static spray (thanks to Miss Moss), and a wierd love affair with salad organizational containers.

You can tell Cooper is a Maryland boy at heart, even he loves the crab chip!

Go Noles!

Go Noles!

The Noles vs. Gator game was a wet, sad loss.  The plus side is that we got to tailgate at an awesome spot (thanks to the Kasper group), hang out with some friends and family, and eat some yummy food.  While the rest of the family soaked it out in the monsoon, Cooper and mommy went back home and cuddled in our jammies.  Maybe next year…

Big Boss

Big Boss

Here’s a quick re-cap of our Thanksgiving trip.  Chris caught this big hog at Lake Harris while mommy and Coop went to Target.  He was incredibly excited and I only wished Coop hadn’t just fallen asleep, cause he would have loved it too!

Cooper also took advantage of practicing his golf swing and cart driving skills.

So we had a quick and fun trip for Thanksgiving.  I think Cooper ate his weight in mashed potatoes. He also really loved Martini, but between the terror and vomiting, she was happy being left alone instead.

So I’ve been entering a contest everyday to win a gift card.  There are only 3 left but I’m committed, so I’m not quitting.  The cool thing is that Wendi, the blog owner, commented on my blog!  I’m hoping it give me the extra umph to win it.  In the mean time, check out her site.  There is a TON of goodies waiting for you.

Ready for Winter

Sorry we haven’t posted in a while, the cold weather has Coop feeling ugg again.  Not much to report on except that if anyone knows how to get Doak to stop eating Coopers socks, PLEASE let us know.  No joke he has eaten at least 10 at this point!  NASTY!

Sunday was a fun day for all of us, as our friends, Henry and Courtney, celebrated Evan’s baby shower!  Nothing better then babies, football, and queso.  Cooper can’t wait for Evan to get here and he’s already started breaking in some of his new stuff!

I decided to try finger painting the wrapping paper for Evan’s gifts with Cooper, which was a big mistake!  He was not interested in touching the paint and then decided to eat it.  This prompted a 30 min long screaming fit, that even the bath couldn’t cure.  But the paper turned out cute regardless.
